What to Know in Emergencies
Dear Students,
When an emergency such as fire or earthquake occurs, it is as important for you to be prepared for these situations as well as the measures taken by our University. In this direction, we kindly request your cooperation and participation according to the information shared below.
Emergency Exits:
In emergencies requiring building evacuation, “Emergency Exit” routes should be preferred first. Emergency exit routes are designed to be unobstructed, protected and can be opened from inside 24/7 with panic bar doors. An “Emergency Action Plan” is available in all rooms to inform about the emergency exit routes and the measures to be taken in case of emergency.
We have 2 different emergency scenarios in our buildings: fire and earthquake.
Fire Scenario:
It is activated in case of smoke, dense vapor, heat and flame. Fire announcement and siren systems are activated, card access systems, magnetic holders, turnstile arms become inactive and elevators are disabled on the ground floor.
Earthquake Scenario
Seismic earthquake sensors in our buildings are activated in parallel with the intensity and duration of the earthquake. Earthquake announcement becomes active, card access systems, magnetic holders, turnstile arms become passive, elevators come to the ground floor and become inactive, building gas flow is cut off.
Although we hope not to encounter any disaster, fire or earthquake, it is of great importance that you know and apply the precautions and practices to ensure your safety.
